About

El Karama Wildlife Conservancy is made up of over 15,000 acres of land in Laikipia County, Kenya. Our closest town is Nanyuki which sits in the shadows of Mount Kenya. The Conservancy supports a large variety of wildlife including 432 species of birds and 80 species of mammals, as well as numerous reptiles, amphibians and fish. A healthy population of lion and leopard, as well as endangered species including Grévy’s zebra, Jackson's hartebeest, stripped hyena, elephant, cheetah, reticulated giraffe and African wild dog can also be found on the Conservancy.
